Cardboard box with wheels on a floor, on a pallet, and on a flat surface.

If you notice any damage, take pictures of damage prior to opening and email the photos to Gratz Customer Care team.

Step 2: Opening Your Shipment

If your shipment contains a guillotine, please see the Guillotine Tower Unboxing – Special Instructions at the bottom of this section for detail in how to open the crate.

Removing Strapping

Your shipment may arrive with strapping circling the outside of the packaging.

If your shipment has boxes with straps, Gratz advises using the following to break the strapping only:

If the above tools are not available, you can use a box cutter to cut away the straps only.

We recommend using gloves for this process as staples in the box may be concealed under strapping or tape

Cutting Tape

Gratz uses reinforced paper tape to seal its boxes.  To remove the tape, we recommend using the following methods to avoid damage to product:

  • Gratz includes an upholstery-safe box cutter in the top corner of your box, in the packing slip. Please use this tool to open your shipment. It is designed to open tape seams safely without risk of damage to the upholstery or apparatus inside.
  • Please do NOT use any sharp blades, scissors or other sharp objects. These can damage the products inside the box.

Unwrapping Items

Use care while unwrapping the items inside the package. Please avoid using sharp blades or scissors when removing packing paper or bubble wrap from each item. Take your time and unwrap each component in the boxes carefully. Small parts can sometimes be hidden in the packing materials, so check thoroughly before discarding anything.

Guillotine Tower Unboxing – Special Instructions

If you ordered a Guillotine Tower, the apparatus arrives in a wooden crate.

To open the crate, you will need a drill equipped with a Phillips #2 bit to loosen the screws holding down the lidCarefully remove the lid and safely place it aside.

Once the top of the crate has been removed, you can continue with the general unpacking instructions listed above.

Once the box is opened, discard any packing paper or extra padding inside the box.

Carefully remove any paper or bubble wrap from each item by hand. Do not use any sharp object to remove the bubble wrap or pack paper around the items.

Once you have removed your order from the packaging, inspect each item for any concealed damage.

If you find any damage to the shipment after removing your apparatus from the packaging, take pictures to document the issues and contact Gratz Customer Care team.
